Going green?
After quite some time I now rediscovered how much fun biking once was in my life. Perhaps fun is not the right word, it is rather a kind of relaxing work-out to me (and I detest work-outs). Of course I underestimated the distance to the office by at least 4 kilometres. No surprise I was knackered after the first day!
Though the one thing I remembered correctly about cycling in Berlin is the high stress factor. However I guess it's a common problem in any major city. Yes, cyclists can be rude. But often enough cars will cut you off, simply ignoring the fact that you have equal rights (in terms of the StVO). I try to be one of the few who respect traffic lights (when going by car/bike), so I think I deserve a better treatment, or not? Anyways, the best I can probably do is to keep myself protected with a helmet. Since accidents will happen, sooner or later - preferably later!
