12" widescreen notebook for Linux?

I am looking for a robust 12" widescreen notebook with proper Linux support (working suspend mode, robust USB support, and so on). Most of the time I'd use it within some docking-station as desktop replacement, so it should have some proper CPU. Still I'd like to use it for traveling, so heavy 14" notebooks are out of choice.

Stripping down GNU make
After reading Thomas' rant about automake 1.10 rejecting GNU-makeism in its script I wondered if it wouldn't possible to ship GNU make with all tarballs, instead of all the autotools crap. So I did some experiments this morning.
Raw GNU make 3.81 as distributed by the FSF requires 1.1 MB. After unpacking 6.4 MB of disk space are used:
